Catch A Star Learning Center is a not-for-profit corporation licensed to accept 167 children from the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years old.
The Milky Way and Little Dipper Rooms at Catch A Star are designed to give our infants a stable, individualized, and stimulating environment. These rooms can accommodate up to 12 full time infants with three teachers. Each infant has his own crib and a place in the cabinet for diapering materials. These children are allowed to set their own schedule and will be fed, diapered, played with, and nap as they choose. The teachers will record each interaction with the infants and this record will be sent home at the end of the day.
The Big Dipper Room is designed for walkers fifteen months to two years old. This room can accommodate fifteen children with three teachers. They have a locker for their belongings, and a cot of their own for afternoon nap time. These children spend a great deal of their day playing and exploring, but they also have small group activities. A Catch A Star day may include activities that will stimulate the children physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively. Teachers begin to encourage Toddlers to share, wait their turn, help others and follow simple directions.
The Blue Moon Room is for those children that have turned two. This room can accommodate sixteen children with two teachers. Self care such as dressing, toileting, zipping, and snapping are encouraged. A Catch A Star day may include art, music, language, fine and gross motor activities, story time, meals, and nap time.
The Yellow Sun Room is for children three years old. This room can accommodate twenty children with two teachers. They begin a daily tooth brushing routine and working with computers at this class level. A Catch A Star day will include a variety of activities which may include art, music, fine and gross motor skills, language, math, story time, meals, and nap time. Active exploration and interaction are encouraged as a learning experience.
The Purple Planet Room and Red Rocket Room are for those children of that age and maturity. The activities in the two rooms are meant to prepare the children for their future Kindergarten experience. Field trips, weekly lesson themes, and reading and writing opportunities are used to enhance the children's basic skill levels.
The three Shooting Star Rooms are for children, six through twelve years old. Since the children have been in a structured setting all day, they may choose an activity from several interest centers, participate in planned activities, work on homework, or join in an outdoor game or free play. The children are also able to enjoy their air conditioned classrooms with computers, pool tables, air hockey, foosball, and other games. We also offer a van transportation service to local enrichment programs that are available throughout our community. Our School Age program is open every day including public school holidays, public school snow days, early dismissals, and public school teacher institute days until 5:30pm. As a member of our year round After School Program, these children are automatically reserved a spot for our Summer Camp Program.
Our Summer Program is a daycamp atmosphere with field trips taken each day. The children are provided nutritious meals meeting all the food groups for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. They are able to spend their summer vacation from public school with bowling, roller skating, movie theaters, shopping, fishing, restaurants, local parks, area museums, swimming, golfing, water parks, zoos, ice skating, ice cream trips, and indoor amusement playgrounds.
